34th Istanbul Film Festival

I guess you all have heard this festival. This year it was-and it is- everywhere. Metros, bus stops, streets. We memorized this poster. There are pretty good films this year and this is a great opportunity for those who love to watch movies.✋

The Istanbul Film Festival was first presented as a film week in the summer of 1982. In 1983 under the title “International Istanbul Film Days”, 36 films were shown in one month.

The programme of the 34th Istanbul Film Festival is replete with films that recently premiered at the Sundance and Berlin Film Festivals, as well as with documentaries, children’s movies, and the latest masterpieces of master directors, along with many other features. The festival’s traditional sections such as the Akbank Galas, Masters, From the World of Festivals, New Visions, Documentary Time with NTV, Mined Zone, Antidepressant, Kid’s Menu and Midnight Madness will this year be complemented with extra sections and special screenings.

The Festival, whose aim is “to encourage the development of cinema in Turkey, to help Turkish cinema attain international recognition and to promote films of quality in the Turkish market”, has also introduced international institutions and organizations to the Turkish market.

Discounted tickets are sold at 5 TL, regular price is 17 TL. For more info, check out the event page. You can also purchase tickets on Biletix.
