yep. you read it right. do you even know where it is? those of you who are into skiing might know. it’s is a lake in the Julian Alps of the Upper Carniolan region of northwestern Slovenia, where it adjoins the town of Bled. It’s about 55 km (34 mi) from the capital city, Ljubljana. A little lake, surrounded by couple of hotels, restaurants. why so beautiful? it’s not allowed any motored vehicle in the lake. There is this little island middle of the lake with a church. There is a bell and you get to ring it three times after you wish a wish. Of course, i did that. Also, traditionally it is considered good luck for the groom to carry his bride up the steps on the day of their wedding before ringing the bell and making a wish inside the church. You can swim in the lake if you like! lake is 2,120 m (6,960 ft) long and 1,380 m (4,530 ft) wide, if you like the numbers.
you come here, make a tour around the lake (there is a walking path), eat a lovely lunch, visit the church, eat the local dessert -a creamy cake-, take some photographs. I didn’t had the time, but I would love to visit the medieval-era Bled Castle, which stands above the lake on the north shore. The World Rowing Championships in 1966, 1979, 1989 and 2011 were held at Lake Bled.
